Catholics were not permitted in Georgia, along with Jews. Georgia was not that different from the other American colonies. They were founded by protestants seeking to get away from Catholics and Anglicans.
Georgia's charter of 1732 did not allow catholics, blacks, liquor dealers, and lawyers.
Catholics, blacks, liquor dealers, and lawyers could not become colonists.
Liquor dealers, Blacks, Catholics, and Lawyers. Debtors were also not allowed to go, although Georgia'a colony was originally built for that purpose (to James Oglethorpe).
The Georgia Charter of 1732 was signed on April 21, 1732 and ended in 1752.
A charter colony is a colony that has been founded based on the laws of a charter created by officials or sometimes the people that will live there in the case of many of the thirteen colonies in America. A charter is a document that has the rules of a piece of land that people will or have been settling in. The declaration of independence is a form of a charter.

The Charter of 1732 was created by the trustees. The purpose of the charter was to keep the colony of Georgia under control because it was a social experiment. The charter's most important rules are that there were no catholics allowed in Georgia. It also did not allow blacks in because they believed it would start slavery and women weren't allowed to own land. Some other ones were there had to be a common council, no liquor or liquor dealers (alcohol), the colonists must grow mulberry trees because silk worms ate their leaves and England wanted to make silk, no lawyers because they wanted the colonists to settle their problems one on one instead of in court, and a land limit of 500 acres.
