Once their body weight is no longer being buoyed-up and supported by the water, their weight presses down on their chest. This will prevent them from breathing properly, and will also affect their internal organs - putting a strain on their heart.

∙ 12y agoThe reason is because usually these whales are very sick and are unable to do anything to move themselves back in, Also they weight many thoughts of pounds and gravity doesnt help that.
