Why will a plant make less food on a very cloudy day?

Because the sun helps it to make the food and when its cloudy it is hard for it to make their food.

What would be most likely effect on cellular respiration if a plant lost much of chlorophyll?

If a plant lost a significant amount of its chlorophyll, than it couldn't produce as much food for itself as before. Therefor, the plant would have less food it could use in respiration, and thus respiration would decrease. With less respiration, the plant would have less energy, and if the amount of chlorophyll loss was too high, the plant would die.

Why might there be few fewer chloroplasts in the root of a plant than in a stem or a leaf?

chloroplasts make chloraphyll, which helps plants make sugar in what is called photosynthesis. less sunlight reaches those parts and there is no need for chloroplasts there. leaves are called the food factory of the cell, the main function of the chloroplast is photosynthesis by which it makes food for the plant. The roots and stem do not have this function of making food thus the chloroplasts are less common in these parts of the plant. by harjaap singh

Why is pollination important to all humans and animals?

Agriculture is highly dependent on plant pollination in order to produce the food we eat. Without adequate pollination less food (if any) will be produced, which means less food to feed more hungry mouths.

How does pasteurization preserve food?

You are heating it, which destroys the bacteria or slows the microbial growth, so less bacteria in the food, which makes it safer to eat!

What makes grass grow less?

less water, less light, less food, less warmth ?? :)

How does sunllight affect plant growth?

Sunlight kickstarts photosynthesis, which is the plants way of making food. One needs food to survive, so in other words, no sunlight, no food, no life, no plant. A plant definatly needs sunlight to survive, so the less sunlight one plant has, the less healthy it will be until finally it dies off.

What is the importance of chlorophyll in the production of food in a plant?

as you know, chlorophyll helps trap sunlight to make food, right?so, without chlorophyll, plants don't makes food for themselves and naturally, they die.Plants, being food producers, provides food for other organisms directly or indirectly.without them, organisms have less air to breathe, and plant eaters willnot have food to eat. While without plant eaters, meat eaters will have no food to eat.without meat meaters,we,humans will have no food to eat .And so,the whole earth would extinguise.....all because of "chlorophyll"!

Will solar panels work on cloudy days?

As long as there is sunlight on the panels, the system will produce electricity. However, production will be less on cloudy days than on bright sunny days. Think of it in terms of visibility. There is still outdoor visibility on cloudy or rainy days, albeit less visibility. There is still production on cloudy days, albeit less production. Since there is no sunlight at night, there is no production at night.

Are rabbits pests?

Yes they are. They eat plant roots which means less food for native animals

If it is a cloudy day then how you will get solar energy?

Quite simply, you get less solar energy than when it is not cloudy. For example, a solar stove can still heat water, but it will no longer boil.Quite simply, you get less solar energy than when it is not cloudy.
