Tires are made of a semi-soft rubber compound that wears away gradually over time as they are exposed to abrasive road surfaces.

At the end of a journey there will be slightly less tread* and the air pressure will have slightly increased from expansion caused by a rise in temperature from heat produced by friction during contact with the road and the effects of braking.

*Measuring tread loss is done with a Tread Depth Gauge and will usually be near impossible to judge after short journeys since the amount of material lost is negligible.
