i am currently changing the head gasket on my neon i havent started yet but the other day i ripped it all apart to fix the water pump, got it back together and drove 72 kilometers and blew the headgasket! not a fun thing i hate neons!
It might be your head gasket. Head gaskets are a huge problem in Dodge Neons.
If you get a new engine it will have a new head gasket
I don't know which one was at fault but I replaced the head, the head gasket, and the intake manifold gasket.
Not necessarily. Check the rocker gasket.
No, they have nothing to do with each other.
Approximately $1,500 is the going rate for a head gasket replacement.
Could be head gasket, head, or cracked block
has the car been overheated?
Sure it will start with a blown head gasket. But, if you continue to run this engine with a blown head gasket you will destroy the engine.
Because the head gasket is blown.
You will need a head gasket replacement if the head gasket has blown. Have a professional check it out. You did not give enough information for me to say one way or the other.
Possible cracked head, or head gasket needs replacement.
