You mite have a ground some where that is not making full contact. It could either be from the motor to the body or frame to the body.

Next to the crank pulley. Held on with 2 10mm bolts.
Check the cable.
HP is from the crankshaft with... BHP is from crank with no accessories just raw power

yes it will crank, because cranking of the engine depends on the starting motor,it has nothing to do with fuel.But remember it will just crank not run.
On a 4.0 V-6 the crank position sensor is in a fixed location and cannot come in contact with the crank if it is installed correctly.
