It is possible that a 1993 Toyota will not start when it is cold because the battery does not have enough cranking amps to start the vehicle. Check to make sure that the battery is large enough for the job and is also charging properly.
I have a Toyota with the 22r engine and it will start when its cold but it when it gets worm it wont start with out help
If a 1993 Toyota is acting like it is not getting fuel in cold weather, check the fuel pressure sensor. There is also the coil and timing that might cause the car to spit and sputter in cold weather. Also check the timing belt.
pickup speedometer does not register from a cold start. Shifting lurches and then all evens out after about 30 mph
having a similar problem. have traced it back to a cold start valve and an egr valve. both are clogged on mine.

i asked this question the tempture gage shows it is over heating but the engine is cold to touch

Many possible reasons. Maybe cold start switch(valve) is bad.
The cold start injecter is located in the middle of the intake manifold with the brake master cly. right in the way
The larger of the refrigerant lines. Should be cool or cold to the touch.
sounds like a temperature sensor problem
More than likely a problem with the choke system.
