Through the production of Sonic Generations, SEGA wanted to present Sonic with the new generation visuals. The Xbox 360 and PS3 consoles help to do this, whereas the Wii's visuals pales in comparison.
The 3DS, whilst not visually up to par with the consoles, utilises 3D technology, therefore being a part of the new generation of gaming, which inspired SEGA to create the game for the 3DS as well.

According to SEGA They are making it but they said it will not be released until sometime this year or the next they wont give a date yet and they might only air it in Japan

Sonic the hedgehog 4 episode 2 ofcourse A sonic anniversary game, there is no title yet, no official information. But there is rumoured that it will have the best sonic levels of the older games, not just copies but with modifications for the modern gen consoles It has been confirmed for the wii, DS (maybe 3DS?), PS3 and PSP. XBOX 360 isn't sure yet. We've also got the information that it'll be 2D and 3D. But if it's like sonic unleashed/colors or it depends on which stage it is we don't know. The guy rekai (who also hinted about the sonic anniversary game) said it'll be like unleashed/colors. But sega still doesn't comment about it, so is it all fake???... The other is Mario & sonic game. It's rumoured that it wont be an Olympic game this time. (Where I'm very happy with) It's also rumoured that this is in development for the wii and ds at the moment. Please do not forget that this are just rumours, and sega didn't tell any official information yet.
