Worn parts, dirty gun. Not possible to diagnose it remotely, you need to see a gunsmith.
Most were single shot lever actions. Operate lever to open action, insert cartridge, close action.
A PIG TAIL IS THE LEVER ON THE TOP OF THE GUN TO OPEN THE ACTION
They are usually broken out by the type of action- break open, bolt action, lever action, pumps, automatic, etc. AND- the muzzleloading rifle.
It's always best to clean from the breech end, but if you want to clean from the muzzle end, simply open the bolt, and then run your cleaning rod down the muzzle. Might be a good idea to put a piece of old rag in the bolt opening so the debis that is pushed out, wont end up in the action. Marlins are very easy to clean from the breech end. Simply open the lever half way, pull the lever screw, remove the lever, then pull the breechbolt out. You can now clean from the breech end.
It depends on the model. The numbers are always on the receiver, never the barrel. Pumps and autos are on the bottom of the receiver, forward of the carrier. Over/Under serial numbers are under the action release lever on top of the tang. Move the lever to open and you will see the serial number.
By bolt action, recoil, pump-action or lever action. A casing is hot after the bullet has been fired, so pulled back on a bolt will open the chamber and fling the casing out. Fully automatic and semi-auto guns fire with recoil. The blast from firing a bullet launches the hammer back and allows the casing to come flying out a hole in the side of the gun. Lever action works pretty much the same as bolt-action and was used before weapons could load in a new bullet. The lever would push out the old casing and put in a new bullet and casing in. Pump action works just the same as lever action, but was used because you could keep your eye on the target while pumping, instead of having to aim, shoot, move the lever and reaim, you could just aim, shoot, pump, and shoot again without having to look around for your target.
lever located in passenger footwell. have a nice day. under the glove box depending on the model and year if its the 96 model its just under the stering wheel little blacl lever that should do the trick
It was made by Stevens, the model is: Stevens model 940
Below the grill and above the bumper. Reach through and pull the lever. Single action.
When the action is open, nothing is holding a shell in the chamber, and the firing pin is several inches away from the shotshell primer. The hammer is also held down by the bolt when in the rearward position. Action open, safety on is the standard "weapon clear" drill. No, no way.
The "New Model" 60 has a bolt hold-open lever that extends through the trigger guard. The bolt, bolt hold-open parts, trigger guard, and stock are different.
