Only he knows his answer to this but it may be because he wanted to be elsewhere but also taking you for granted, possibly embarrassed of you and afraid to miss out on things that is with anyone else but you. He may not share your interests and possibly getting bored, irritated and not interested in the relationship anymore. You deserve better and really shouldn't be putting up with such behaviour. It is quite normal for a couple to have different interests and to do some things apart but he should be spending some time with you.
