fuel filter
.........................................
I have a Camry (yes i know its completely diiferent), and my car is doing the same thing pretty much, gas mileage isn't so good if you have to sit at red lights with your car revving lol. Anyway you might want to look into the egr valve, does the car start right up? If not do you give it a few seconds and try again then it does? (i found hitting, lightly, the egr valve stopped it from sticking and it would restart.
Dirty injectors.
idle not set right, need tune-up, or dirty injectors
The same thing happened with my a987 Chevy Celebrity 2.8L V6. Its problem turned out to be failed fuel injectors. I replaced 3 out of the 6 injectors and it has been fine since.
probabaly a bad distributor. replace distributor and wires and should be fine.
maf sensor or idle air control/ecm. force-clean fuel injectors and reset engine timing and base idle
you should check the fuel pressure and volume by preforming a fuel systems test. then if it is satisfactory to the specifications of the repair manual, test the injectors, resistance test and balance test.
clean iac sensor and o ring
Check your vacuum lines. Make sure one is not unplugged, loose, or cracked
If your 1994 Pontiac Trans Am randomly stalls out while driving, you may have clogged fuel injectors or a bad distributor. Check the distributor first, as this is the easiest to replace.
crank sensor is getting hot/ bad crank sensor
clutch in transmission isn't engaging correctly, must see a transmission guy to know, and transmission would have to be replaced. Other possible is the wires going to the fuel injectors are shorting at the 8 pin connector. There are on engine near air intake.
Could be clogged injectors. Run a pint of Sea Foam in the gasoline. No guaranty's but it has worked for me.
