The disc may be dirty or damaged, or the file system may not be supported by the operating system. If it was recorded as a CD-R, the disc may not have been burned correctly ( a "coaster").
Check the jumpers, make sure they aren't both jumpered the same if they're both on the same ribbon cable.
probably need to update the drive if its older and you're using newer cds, have to get a firmware file , flash file
You'r computer doesn't have the right software. It probably is because it hasn't got the software installed on it. or mabye the blank CD's are scratched, dirty, or damaged. -------------oooooooooooooooo----------- Because they are unformatted. Go start, go run, type format x:\ (where x = drive letter of CD writer) and insert CD when promted. Or format through burning software OR Windows key and E together, right click on the drive and select format
One may be able to copy the folders and files on the CD to another folder on one's hard drive, however the PC will not recognize that folder as a CD. Do you have more than one CD or DVD slot on your System? Is your blank disc in the right one? Is it in correctly. If so, Try another disc.

you can simply make another file on the CD that is read only that way when they play the CD well obviously they wont see it,unless they open it up on there computer.
Create a Hiren's bootable CD, it wont bypass but it will reset any password the computer user has in stored.
If you have mp3's on a CD then all you have to do is copy the files over. No ripped/recording etc. necessary. Copying a whole CD worth of mp3's to your computer wont take more then 5 minutes.
