The problem is most likely the fuel pump or possibly a problem with an electronic component.
Have the fuel pump tested first.

COULD BE A LOOSE BATTERY CABLE, AND WHEN YOU SHUT THE HOOD, IT GETS A CONNECTION. TRY TIGHTENING BATTERY CABLES.
