A bad resistor or a bad switch.
The selector mechanism needs repair or the doors inside the vent are jammed.
With that year deville...its more than likely the blower motor
The moveable "baffle" inside the dashboard is not redirecting the air flow as it should. It's operated either by vacuum or an electric motor, in either case, repair is going to require the removal of the dashboard.
I'm having the same problem with my GrandPrix, there's a website that may help you out a bit too, www.2carpros.com
short circuit in the circuit
If it does not blow at all then that is a problem, but if it is when you first start it, the Caddy will not blow air on you until it is the selected temp.
i would like to know if there is a fuse that can blow for the vacum siliniod to stop working
U find the cracked or disconnected Vaccume hose - probably near the carb or fuel injection on the intake manifold, but sometimes the vac modulator under the dash goes bad.OR a bad connection @ the Firewall.
air mixing door actuator motor behind glove box
short in dash light circuit, but also check tailights. Sometimes no dash lights, AND NO TAILGHTS.
You probably have a jammed or otherwise defective vent door.
