The transfer cases in these trucks were prone to having a lube pump failure do to a deteriorated suction hose. This causes the wear pads on the shift forks to wear out , and not having enough travel to engage the gear. But this usually caused a no drive condition in 2 or 4 high range first ( high low range shift fork ). Check the transfer case shifter adjustment to rule that out first. Then try turning the rear drive shaft when in 2wheel drive to rule out a problem in the rear differential. Hope this helps.
today i tryied to put my bronco into 4 low and when i put my truck in neutral i could only get to 4 h and i couldnt move it over and down to get to 4 l
Yes the 240sx Is back wheel drive, but its called RWD or rear wheel drive. Meaning the rear tires move the veheical
To put a Chevy Trailblazer into four wheel driver, locate the four wheel drive component below the instrument panel. While the car is in drive, move the knob into the desired four-wheel drive position.
The wheel with the good drive shaft will not move the car. The differential in the trans-axle will always send power to the axle (wheel) with the least resistance. There for the side with the broken shaft will be the axle that turns.
Your selector should be in the neutral position. Select 4WD H, and move selector into drive. Your light should stay on. If the light is turning off, you may have a problem with the actuator or hubs. Sometimes going from Park to Drive, your 4WD will disengage.
It allows the transmission to provide force to the drive wheel, and remain flexible enough for the drive wheel to move through a range of motions, that would otherwise be impossible.
Put the vehicle into 4WD? It should move on the basis of the traction of the front wheels. The rear wheels should simply free-wheel. Am I wrong?
Transmitions are complicated systems which have many parts. It could be broken, the filter cloged or low on fluid.
it will be able to move but it will automatically drive the other as a result of an unstable wheel control.
To get a car to move the power from the engine has to be transferred to at least two of the cars wheels on the same axle. If these two wheels are at the front then the car is a front wheel drive, if the two wheels are at the back then it is a rear wheel drive. Some modern cars however now have mechanisms that deliver power to all four of the wheels at once, this is a four wheel or all wheel drive.
only move the 4-wheel drive lever when it is in park to engage.Do not do it on the fly. See owners manual for complete info.
There is a lever just to the right of the driver's seat left of the e-brake/shifter. You have to move the lever to the right and up to get it out of 4 wheel drive.
