yes. there is. it took me quiet a while to find it though, after research and more research. i finally found it.I cant remember what website though. ive lost it and found it again a couple of times. but i remember some of the information. it will come out late 2010 along with the wii2. there has only been 1 Mario kart per Nintendo console. of course we should all know by now that it wont ever be coming out for xbox720 and ps4 because they are Microsoft and sony companies. xbox720 will be making its debut in late 2010 or early 2011, while ps4 will be coming out in 2014. anyways this Mario kart is called MARIO KART: BATTLE OF THE LEGACY TRIPLE DASH! it has Mario, luigi, peach, Yoshi, bowser, dk, birdo, baby luigi, baby Mario in the front cover racing in the rainbow roadway. as many people liked the Mario kart wii better but would preffer 2 characters in a car. You have to beat the game in order to be able to save when ever you want. Unless you've reached and beat world 8 saving your game is impossible.

Games like the Mario & Luigi series and Paper Mario don't save after you beat the final boss. Because this games follow a storyline, you can't just go back and defeat the bosses when you feel like it. It wouldn't make sense.
