However, if your DIY enough to be thinking of this, perhaps incorporating a lever into the device to lessen lift and the hanging load on the motor maybe what you need, maybe even a locking "drop pin" type like on a car lift, so that once the plow is up there is no weight on the motor. Perhaps then the motor will be more than powerful enough to not only lift it, but lift it for years.
