Why wont the sims 2 body shop open?

I got mine to open by following the directions directly from EA Games' website - it worked for me.

Just delete your body shop shortcut (if you have one) then go on all programs>EA games>sims 2 the drag body shop onto your desktop now click or double click and it should work! worked for me anyways

This used to happen to me ALL THE TIME! First, try to open it again by going into all programs>Maxis>EA games> sims2> Bodyshop. If it says that the program is not working, it means that it is not installed completely, or it needs to be debugged. So click 'debug' and then try to re-open it again. If it still does not work, then click your start button, and click my computer. It shows you a list of all the programs on your computer. Scroll down until you see Sims2 BodyShop. Then click on it, and view its redeem file, or if it says INSTALLATION UN-COMPLETE, click COMPLETE INSTALLATION. If you choose to look over the redeem file, copy the code, and rename the bodyshop file by pasting in the code. Now if this doesn't work either, you will need a simPE or a Sims patch. If it still doesn't work, it means that your computer won't work with it no matter what. Usually it will only work with the newest software such as windows vista, or the new verison of Mac. pro. Sorry if it doesn't work =p

The first thing to try when body shop doesn't open is to open your Sims 2 folder and delete the cigen file. Sometimes it becomes corrupted and prevents the game from opening. The same thing is true for your the groups cache file if your game does nothing when you try to start it. Deleting those files hurts nothing and your game will generate new ones when it starts up again.

My body shop stopped working a few days ago and deleting the cigen file from my Sims 2 folder worked for me.

For me, I had something similar to bodyshop - it was the create a sims demo, so body shop would not work. maybe something like that happened for you?try deleting the create-a-sim demo (if you have it - if u don't ignore me) idk, im just saying

For some reason, the body shop doesn't open when you use the shortcut. So, you go to:

1. My Computer

2. Local Discs

3. Program Files

4. EA Games

5. The Sims 2

6. Base

7. CSBin

8. Double click on the file that says "TS2BodyShop"

It may take a minute to open, but as long as you see the hourglass, that means it's working. It will then open, and you can make a shortcut of that file and it will open faster and actually work.

If you have any expansion packs to Sims then you havae to open the body shop under the expansion pack.
