I think you mean "... until the seal is replaced", If so, it's so you don't spill trans fluid all over the roadways and cause a hazard for other vehicles.
You can only put enough fluid in the transmission until the fluid is up too the full line on the dip stick, DO NOT OVER FILL IT!!!!
There are two large flat hex bolts on the driver's side of the transmission. Use a pan to catch the fluid as you loosen and remove the lower bolt. As the fluid is draining, remove the upper plug. When fluid has stopped draining, replace lower plug and then fill transmission through upper plug until fluid is level with bottom of hole. Replace upper plug.
remove the transmission oil pan and replace the trans filter, reseal and replace the pan fill trans start with four quarts then check and add until full.
There is not a drain plug. You can try loosening one of the cooler lines, then start the engine until you have removed the proper amount. MGLI have used a little hand-crank fluid pump to get trans fluid out. Worked out very well - clean and controllable to the amount I wanted.
Yes, power steering fluid is very harmful to an automatic transmission. You should not drive it until the fluid is changed.Yes, power steering fluid is very harmful to an automatic transmission. You should not drive it until the fluid is changed.
On the side of the transmission that faces to the front of the car, there is a plug that looks like a pipe plug. Take it out and fill it with your manual transmission fluid until it starts to come out. Then replace the plug.
Add transmission fluid until the dipstick reads full.
There is a plug under the car that must be removed. It is located on the upper side of the transmission. Fill until lube comes out the hole.
On Gm cars with no dipsticks checking the fluid. 1. Start the vehicle. 2. Climb underneath the passangers side with a 7/16 wrench in hand. 3. On the end of the transmission there is a plug (right up under the cv axle) pull the plug out with the 7/16 wrench. 4. If fluid runs out then its full. If no fluid runs out open the hood and locate the RED plastic cap on to of the transmission, unscrew it and place a funnel into the hole underneath the cap. Fill until fluid runs out the end of the transmission where you had removed the plug with the 7/16 wrench. After you get it full replace the plug at the end of the transmission and tighten with 7/16 wrench, replace the RED plastic cap on top of the transmission and hand tighten it. Reallly need 2 people to put fluid in it one to pour it in and one to watch for it to start running out. I make no guarantee that your vehicle is the same as described above.
Answer There is not a dipstick on that car. There is a red cap on the top of the trans. Fluid goes in throught that hole. There is a special procedure to check the fluid level that I am not completely certain about. The car has to be on a lift and level. From underneath there is a small plug that is threaded into the transmission case. With that plug removed, you add ATF into the designated fill opening on top of the trans until fluid comes out that small hole. When fluid comes out the small hole, the trans is full. Replace plug,
There is no dip stick. You have to loosen the 19mm cap bolt plug on the side of the transmission and fill it there until it runs out. Then replace the plug.
simple enough. there are 2 plugs on the trans, one on the bottom to drain, and one on the side to fill. Drain it out, replace the plug, remove the side plug and pump the appropriate manual transmission fluid in until it starts to dribble out of the hole and then replace the plug. Done!
