it bit you because it felt endangered
It either likes you, hates you, or can't figure out what to do.
They are usually small, but grow to be really big! You can also tell is their a snapping turtle if you see points on his mouth. DON'T PUT YOUR HAND NEAT ONE! If it gets a hold of your hand they are most likely not to let go of it.A snapping Turtle has a dirty looking shell that has usually no color on it and they have pointy tails and sharp teeth so watch out and very long strong necks once they get a hold of something its hard to get it back or out so don't put your finger to close

Oh, dude, alligator snapping turtle eggs are not for sale! It's illegal to buy or sell them because these little guys are protected by law. So, if you're thinking of starting a turtle egg omelette business, you might want to reconsider. Like, maybe stick to regular chicken eggs instead.
Baby snapping turtles should be released back into their natural habitat once they are strong enough to survive on their own, typically when they are about 4-5 inches in length. It is important to release them in a suitable environment with water, proper food sources, and shelter to ensure their survival. Make sure to check local regulations before releasing them, and avoid releasing them in areas with heavy pollution or high predator populations.
it's probably just in shock if it is being kept in a tank. give it some time and try various foods like goldfish, chicken meat and insects. If it still doesnt eat, you should let it go into a pond
