If it will shift when the engine is off, but not while it is running your clutch is not working
Most likely a broken gear cluster
you just suck at a stick shift
snap ring broke off thus gear sliding back off of shaft
Could be a loose or corrodedbattery cable.
you might want to check the fork in your transmission to make sure they are not bent if they are you are going to have to replace them you can get the forks t advance or auto zone what ever one you prefer

i just had the same problem with mine, could never get it, then i figured out that you have to be in 5th gear and then turn it on press set and youre good to go..
