usually its an issue with the reeds.and if you have a power valve it could be stuck open. but i would suggest having new reeds put in.
First-check compression second-see if fuel is getting to carb. make sure your fuel mixture is correct 40-1 to 60-1 for a two stroke ktm check your mixture screws on carb more then likely one of them is out of adjustment. If all that don't work then you probly need to rebuild your topend

every motor has a powereband. i got a 03 85sx, and a 04 105sx and they got a powerband from hell, made for some serious damage. make sure your gas to oil ratio is rite. also dont use cheap 2-cycle, invest $12 on a pint, i promise you, that beast got a badass powerband extream3d87@yahoo.com If your exhaust valve happens to be stuck open or shut this will drastically make you lose power band, if you use low grade oils they cause your power valve to get sticky, then you should dissassemble and clean it
