There are hundreds of single possible OBDII trouble codes alone. In simplest terms the vehicle's computer is detecting a problem. Those codes can usually be read for free at many auto parts stores in North American markets.

What is your definition of "pulling"? What are you trying to describe?
There are pages and pages of things that can cause a check engine light. You need to have it checked with a scantool. Then the code can be diagnosed and repaired.
This is an indication that there is not sufficient oil in the engine ! Driving could cause the engine to cease, in the worst case it would then be scrap.
Try checking the gas cap. if it is not tight, the engine light tends to come on at random times
first thing is find out what the check engine " light is telling you, Code PO????. then you will get an idea to your question . 2nd answer: I would first suspect low fuel pressure.

If the check engine light has come on, have the codes read. That would be a good place to start.
If the check engine light is on...might be a dirty EGR valve.
