Why would a 1986 Chevy custom Deluxe pick-up when accelerating at a low 0-5mph sputter and act as if it wants to give out but never does?

It could be bad gas or bad spark plugs; either way you need to replace them. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I had a similar problem. Replacing the fuel pump solved the problem. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

He plays a black Fender Telecaster 72 deluxe and a Gibson Les Paul Classic, Mesa/Boogie Amps Boss DD-20 GigaDelay Pedal,Boss TU-2 Chromatic Tuner, And A Digitech Wammy. For distortion he uses his Mesa Boogie Amp. He has used a Fender 72 Telecaster Deluxe, a Gibson Les Paul Classic and more recently has been playing a custom made Fender (probably made by Fender for him) which has a Telecaster 72 Deluxe body and scratchplate with a Jazzmaster style rosewood neck with bound edges, pickups are a Humbucker in the bridge and a P90 style pickup in the neck (however closer look at the neck pickup looks like a P100 pickup). Amp he uses is a Marshall JCM2000 DSL100 with Mesa 4x12 cab.

Small pickup trucks can come with a towing package. However, it is a custom job that requires reinforcement, shocks and springs, so be prepared to spend some money.

User Avatar

LEER fiberglass truck caps will provide your pickup a good way to secure and transport cargo. They are custom made to fix most pickups. They can also improve the look of your pickup.

User Avatar

Try the rotor(under the cap). mine was burn't, talk about shake rattle and roll I've had 3 Nissan pu's greg also, check your vacume lines. Even one can cause sputter. There is a wire coming out of the bottom of your distribitur. if it gets frayed, it can have the same result. Check your fuel flow. dirty carb or fuel injectors will cause it to sputter and or die when put in gear.

Replace fuel filter and check the 02 sensor if the check engine light is on it's probably the 02 sensor run a diagnostic test to be sure

User Avatar

If these times are when you are making left hand turns then it is a low fuel pickup issue. When you have 1/4 tank or less your fuel pickup will lose suction momentarily while cornering or on bumpy roads where the fuel is sloshing around. Otherwise check your fuel filter, it is about the only thing I can think of right now that would cause sputtering but no code.

It is possible but it would be easier to install a 1500 HP Helicopter engine. All custom work with frame and body lengthening work required.

a pickup and a truck are the same thing hence the term pickup truck a pickup can be a truck but a truck doesn't have to be a pickup.

I had the same problem with 137,000 miles on my Nissan pickup. I replaced the spark plugs and the spark plug wires (with high quality ones). I bought a rotor and distributor cap, but did not replace them. I will in the near future. Just the added items made the truck run like brand new. Much more pickup.

One can get custom built canvas canopies for almost any kind of car, but installing such canopies works especially well with pickup trucks of any brand.

You can only do that if there is a pickup installed in the ukulele. The pickup will have a standard amplifier jack in it. If there is no jack, there is no pickup!
