A 1989 Ford Escort would not be getting fuel if the fuel pump has failed or the filter is clogged. A local mechanic or dealership can diagnose and repair the problem.
The fuel pump on my 1989 Escort is in the gas tank.
Check your fuel pump, it could be that it is still getting electricity after you shut off the key.
it is the module on the distributer
no you cant. to replace the fuel pump for this model you have to remove the fuel tank. to remove the tank you have to pick up the car.
In the fuel tank, accessed through rear seat. pump may be okay, problem in wiring harness is common on those.
Fuel filter clogged/dirty, fuel pump could be bad or may have a broken/rusted fuel line.
Does the car start? because if it doesn't... then your fuel cutoff has been tripped, likely by the car getting hit closer to the gas tank and tripping the cutoff valve. if it's anything like the cutoff in a '91 escort, you should be able to take off the small panel access in the trunk/hatch and reset the switch, if it's the same, it's pretty easy
It seems that it's not getting fuel and I can't hear the fuel pump running "Where is the fuel switch location in a 1989 300SE Mercedes Benz?"
when i spin the motor the fuel cut out light comes on. The injectors are getting fuel but the car want hit a lick
On a 1997 Ford Escort : The ELECTRIC fuel pump is INSIDE the fuel tank
Leaky fuel injector(s).
You can't and you shouldn't. The MAF signals the computer how much air is going to the engine. The computer adjusts the amount of fuel going through the injectors. If you were to by pass it, you would either be getting no fuel at all or be getting the maximum amount of fuel. Either way it would be bad for the engine.
