The starter has no control on the spark so that money is wasted. Take it to a garage and have it checked out with the proper machin Check the coil packs
Well I have just gotten over this problem in my cavalier recently so my advice is to look at the engine at night time in dim light where the starter is l;ocated. If you see smoke or a spark on cables around the starter that is most likely the problem. If a new starter wont fix it then a new battery is my next guess. The coil pack, on a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier, is located on the top of the engine. The coil pack is near the electronic spark distributor.
.060 - 2.2L & 2.4
The starter should be place around the bottom front of the engine by the oil pan...
You have to take off the air filter and the starter has like two bolts holdin it in
If a 1996 Chevrolet Cavalier will not start, it could very well be the fuel pump. It could also be the starter or battery.
Right below the EGR valve bolted to the transmission.
First, remove the neg battery cable. Then take the wires off of th starter and then the bolts holding it on and work it out.
If the starter is turning/engaging and there is still no spark, it is very likely your distributor has failed. (Not the cap, but the whole pickup assembly underneath the cap, that the rotor is attached to.)
if its not that and its not turning then its the starter. if its not that then it can be the spark plug make sure its not wet
it's a red wire that's connected to your alternator that about half way down turns blue and connects into the starter solinod
Yes
