I would check the alternator first. You can bring the alternator to most auto part store and they will check it. Most of the time it is free to check. I have also read that there is an engine fuse that will blow. It`s a 20 amp fuse that is located in the box under the hood(right side of engine). Try those two, and good luck.
The computers reset themselves when the battery is unhooked.
