If it is similar to my 2000 Grand Prix which when really cold, -40, it lost it's memory for the actual ignition key. It would start for about 3 seconds and shut off, over and over again. I unhooked my negative battery cable for about 5 minutes, and put my key in the ignition and turned it to the on position before hooking the cable back up. Then when I hooked it up it searched for and found the key in the ignition and it worked. The only thing the security light continues to flash for about 10 minutes now and then goes off. It's been years now and have had no issues.

The 2003 Pontiac Grand Prix does come with a factory security system installed. If your security system is enabled it should have a "security" light that flashes when the key is turned on.
