I have that Suburban! 295K right? (That is what mine has and still kicking!)
The fuel pump is going. You are getting some volume, but not enough. Mine went 4 months like that. Try this, turn the key from of to on about ten times without ever hitting the starter. On the next try, hit the starter. It will start right up. The pump is draining back because it is weak. The pump is in the tank, yes you need to drop it and whatever you do, do not get the $89 unit and autozone! I have a new fuel pump you can hear a block away. Spend the extra $20 and get it a NAPA
check your injection system (fuel filter, injectors).
You may have some gummed up injectors. See if it will run with a little starting fluid. If it does, be suspicious of the fuel and the injectors. If everything else seems ok, and it fires briefly with the starting fluid, try getting all of the old fuel out, change the filter then put a couple gallons of fresh fuel back with some injector cleaner mixed in it. You may have to try it a few times with starting fluid, but if it doesn't fire then, remove the injectors and see if you can have them cleaned. Sitting for a year is very hard on the fuel system and rubber parts of a vehicle.
I have a 1998 Suburban with 60E transmission. It uses Dextron II. The 80E does as well. I used some stuff that supposed to work for Ford and GM cars. Seems to do ok.
no the 454 seems to run hotter that other models
I was wondering the same thing but it seems to be a (creative) criticism of Harry Truman.
If you have upgraded turbo and fuel injectors, the motor is trying to start with too much gas pumping; it just needs more spark.
Is there gas in the tank? Could be dirty fuel injectors. Could be a failed fuel pump.
just wondering if it would be ok to give my dog the antibiotic KLACID. He seems to be coughing a lot
I was wondering the same thing. Don Cherry's face looks like he does have a disclosed ailment
Probably not, unless you're having a specific problem. Since injectors are only about $75 each, it's about as cheap to replace one. I run a bottle of injector cleaner through a full tank of gas now and then. It seems to help quite a bit.
