I would suspect you have loose or corroded battery post connections.
My battery is dead as a doornail but if i jump start it, she runs just fine. So i would say no. As long as you jump it, it should run. Im not 100 % sure, but mine runs even with a dead battery.
Either the battery is not fine and has a dead cell, or something is on pulling power from the battery. Any light on or stuck relay will drain the battery overnight.
Do your headlights work ? or your interior light ? If not , it could be a battery cable connection or a dead cell in your battery
This same thing happened to me. The battery light would come on but my car would run fine then a few days later my engine started overheating and it turned out the fan belt had went. Once i replaced the fan belt everything was fine.
A little more info would be needed [how long was it parked],,The first thing I would check is the alternater,,the brushes can stick if nearly worn out,,a simple bump in the road can jar them loose and it will work[and test] just fine.. I've seen stange things drain a battery,,[a faulty switch in the glove box,you can't see the light on because the door is shut]
You could have a dead cell in the battery I drove to work one day , everything seemed fine when I parked , when I came out to leave a little over 9 hours later , the remote wouldn't work and I had to use my key to unlock the drivers door , the vehicle would not start , the underhood light would not come on , I noticed the door chime would not sound with the drivers door open and the key in the ignition . A co-worker boosted my battery so the vehicle would start , I drove to the Ford dealer and it turned out to be a dead cell in my battery , which is what I figured , but they had to do their tests to be sure
The Honda Civic Hybrid will run fine on a dead battery, but acceleration will be sluggish.
Check your red battery cable line. The same thing happened to me and it turned out to be that the red battery cable line was damaged. I had to replace the terminal because the cable line damage cuased it to burn out.
When you open the hood does your underhood light come on ? or if you have the key in the ignition with the drivers door open do you hear the chime ? If not , it sounds like a poor battery cable connection or a dead battery / dead cell in battery ( you don't mention if the engine cranks )
1986 Corvette. Car drove fine a week ago. parked it in the garage and today totally dead. Where fron here?
Maybe there is a short to earth somewhere in the car so the battery is being permanently discharged.
If your battery is in the trunk, have the mechanic check the connection between the battery & the engine.
