The battery might be bad or the charging system might be not good or the batteries life might expired.
A battery that won't hold a charge has a dead cell and must be replaced. This is assuming there is not something on that is pulling power from the battery.
Yes not that you replace for the dual shock 3, but you can not charge something if it does not have something to hold the charge and you would call it a battery
Depends on the condition of the battery. Most will hold a charge for at least 6 months if they are not connected to anything.
30 year old battery?? I have never heard of a battery lasting this long. This has to be a record of some sort. I would contact the battery manufacture as they may want this battery and give you a new one for it. Anyway if the battery will not hold a charge it has a dead cell and needs to be replaced.
Dead Battery. Are you sure your battery can maintain or hold a charge?
Battery is getting old and will not hold a charge or there is a drain on it. Battery is getting old and will not hold a charge or there is a drain on it.
How long it takes to charge any battery depends on how much electrical charge it can hold. The physical size of a battery can give an indication of how much charge it may hold: the larger the battery, the more electrical charge it is likely to be able to hold. or you could just divide the mAh of the battery by the output rate of the charger. ex: 5000 mAh on a 3000 milliamp output charger would be 1hr 36min. and 3300 mAh on the same charger would be 1hr 10min. and so on.
I assume you mean if it is stored. It depend on the battery and what condition it is in. A good auto battery will hold it's charge for at least 6 months.
Yes, it will hold it's charge for at least 6 months in storage if it is a very good battery to start with.
Batteries charge nothing they hold a charge.
bad battery
Remove the negative cable over night. If it does not hold a charge, the battery has a dead cell and needs replacing. If it does hold a charge but will not when the negative cable is connected you have something on that is drawing power from the battery. Some light or a relay is stuck.
