Vacuum leak; there is a slight load on the engine when stopped at a light because you are in gear, there is none when in park.

There are a number of reasons why a car would idle find but sputter when you accelerate. It could need a new spark plugs. You may also have to replace the filters. It might also be an issue with the air flow.

...sounds like you've got a dirty fuel filter. Fuel is delivered fine at idle, but when higher demand is made ( you press down gas pedal, the blockage prevents delivery of fuel.

There may be a problem with the oxygen sensor that would cause this issue. There may also be a problem with the idle arm censor as well.

The computer has either forgot how to controll the idle, usually caused by a weak battery, or the idle control motor has failed.

Could be a few things, 1st I would check your plugs. They may be gapped wrong if new or just worn out. Then they the wires if they are old they maybe gapping out. If those are fine go to your fuel filter then your fuel pump. After that wait for the "Service Engine Soon" light to come on and have the codes read.
