When immigrants came into the U.S. they had to enter through ellis island or angel island because if the immigrants tried to just run off they would have nowhere else to go

At the Ellis Island Immigration Station on Ellis Island.
It started being prepared as the centre through which immigrants would come -Castle Garden would no longer be the entry point.
Ellis Island is an island in the harbor of New York City. For about 60 years, from 1892 to 1954, people immigrating from other countries to the United States would arrive by ship at Ellis Island. http://www.ellisisland.org/genealogy/ellis_island_history.asp
If they are blind they see nothing.... and it would depend which way there where coming in?
no
There were hundreds of different ships that travelled from Italy to Ellis Island. You would have to search the records to identify a specific ship.
You would visit Angel Island.
Since Ellis Island was a small community the people who worked there were everything from cleaning staff to doctors/nurses. People who worked for the federal government as secretaries and immigration officers would also work there. The new arrivals had to be processed so anyone that was involved in that would be found at Ellis Island.
Hope fully a passport.
Immigrants when entering the United States through New York's Ellis Island would see the Statue of Liberty.
