Knowing the year, make and model vehicle you have would help but, if it has a crankshaft sensor maybe the sensor or the sensor wiring got damaged.
Hi the tacho runs off the alternator & when it stops working it is normally a sign of a fault with the alternator so firstly i would check that the alternator is working corectly
alternator belt broke it drives the fan
Yes, bad alternator drains the battery and would not have enough power to start the car. It could be a bad starter, distributor and rotor cap, if only you don't heard the car engine turning.
A faulty alternator, for one. A loose distributor cap, for two. No gas, for three. And many more.
Alternator is no longer working properly.
I have the same problem with my 95 Eagle. It isn't the alternator - I have plenty of power to turn the engine over. I'm not getting any spark to turn over the distributor. The coil in the distributor is good.
I can't quiet answer this question as i have the exact same problem. The only 2 solutions i can think of is maybe the water pump is faulty or the pulley on the alternator is the wrong size.
What would make your speed odometer stop working after putting an alternator on? 2005 Chevy Malibu
bad ground wire from block to frame or distributor to frame or back to alternator if so designed. 87pontiac writes Inside the distributor is the coil and sometimes the the epoxy that coats the the coil cracks and causes all kinds of headaches from starting problems to idling issues to misfire.
check how easily your alternator spins. it should turn pretty freely also make sure youre using the proper size belt and not under/overtightening it
There is alot of graphics action so they would be working on that
The alternator light circuit is different from the charging part. The charging part goes to the battery, while the light part goes to the instrument panel. There seems to be a grounded wire in the light circuit.
