Check your layers firstly as you may have selected a layer to drop which is masked by one above it. Do this by selecting each layer and turning all off except that one , progress through these making one visible at a time whilst all others are invisible. Check also the background to the drop shadows are not the same or very closely matched in colour as it will not show.
check the size of the drop as it might actually be to small to make it clear
