In 1992, it was called the Sunbird. The Sunfire did not come out until 1995

I have a 89 pontiac. If it is the same type. The fuel filter should be in a bracket hanging underneath the gas tank near the muffler area. Be very careful removing it because fuel wit come pouring out. Get bucket ready.
hit it with a hammer done a few of them only thing holding them on is them four bolts get them out beat it off with a hammer
manual transmissions dont come with dip sticks. the only way to check them is to find its fill port. it will be up from you drain port.
I would check the parking lights, turn signals and side lights front and back. Its got to be one of them. It either don't blink,or don't come on at all or might have a short in the bulb itself. I own a Pontiac sunbird 1994 and if the problem is inside the cab more than likely I would say that its got to do with the signal selector and the relay switching in the steering colum its a hard part to come by. Literally you have to rip arpat the steering colum to get at it.
There are several things that can cause it. One of the door switches may be misadjusted, the headlight switch adjusted so the interior lights come on or a malfuncton in the headlight switch. You just have to check it out. those things check out fine. is there a module that could be the problem?
I have had the light come on when I had a headlight out. me too. 9/15/05
You have a bad alternator.
