Why is a table created in database?

Tables are central to a database. A table stores the data. Everything else in the database, such as queries, forms and reports, use the data from the table. Without tables, a database is useless as it would have no data.Tables are central to a database. A table stores the data. Why would a shop keeper use a spread sheet?

To keep track of inventory and finances. Many use a spreadsheet as if it were a database because the spreadsheet software is already present on their machine as part of an Office package. It is easy to use and they know how to use it. The alternative of obtaining a database package is more costly and requires training or hiring someone to program it.
