Why would an ex keep texting and ringing you after a break-up and why not just move on with his life if he wanted to break up as well?

If both of you basically get along and love each other then it's wise to perhaps text him back and ask to meet him in a public place such as one of your coffee hang-outs. Sometimes people think they want one thing, and it's not what they want at all. He could be having second thoughts or he could have told you he wanted to break off too since you were the one that suggested it. After all, you hurt his feelings and didn't leave him with much dignity. It's tough to hear you aren't wanted. You could very well have had good reason for breaking up, and this is what you have to think of now ... is he worth it? If you seldom got along or he was cheating on you or had a controlling demeanor then it's best to keep moving and stop answering his text messages. You can block on a computer you know. It depends. If she doesn't like you constantly texting her, she could very well decide that you're too clingy and break up with you. If she likes it, no problem. You have to decide why you feel like you need to constantly text her though - are you constantly needing reassurance or are you trying to control her? Both of those things could result in a turn-off and she might break up with you for that.
