Why would check engine come on - Chevy Cavilier 2002- 111000 miles just changed oil?

could be alot of reasons for a check engine light, a sensor going bad, fuel cap not on tight enuff, bad fuel cap, missing, anything.. the only way to tell why it is on, is to check for engine codes on a computer hooked up to the car by a mechanic
