Freeze plugs.
More likely that hoses are leaking or thermostat housing is leaking. Freeze Plugs generally NEVER leaks unless engine block has had frozen coolant in it. Hence, Freeze Plugs.
You have a coolant leak. You have a coolant leak.
why does the coolant only leak when engine is off on my 1999 grand am?
there are freeze plugs on side of engine if the leak is at the front, check to see if coolant is leaking from water pump and running down to bottom of engine
The leak could come from: hoses, punctured radiator, split gasket...you can put tracer dye in the coolant and search for the leak with a black light after you clean the engine.
Head or head gasket leak
water pump, oil, water, engine coolant....main cause would be engine coolant, just check to see if you have a leak.
yes, especially if the leak is causing coolant to leak, you can run out of coolant. then overheat.
If the thermostat was not installed correctly, the housing can crack but it would leak engine coolant not oil.
I think you may be referring to coolant leaking from engine? engine coolant or water can leak from any coolant hose or heater hose, waterpump, thermostat housing etc, wurse case the head gasket is leaking coolant externally, need a pro to check it out
The coolant will normally leak into the oil or into the cylinder
A poor seal or a split.
