Why would humans be effected if ocean water become polluted with lead people don't even drink ocean water anyway.?

The oceans of the world are essential to:
- the removal of carbon dioxide
- the production of oxygen
- the production of food
the addition of heavy metals like lead or other pollutants can interfere with all of these functions and mankind would suffer.
