Which color has the greater intensity?

A rough definition of intensity (how intense) a light is might be how bright (the brightness) the light is. Intensity speaks to the luminance or luminosity of the light source. Under that definition, either red or blue light could be more intense. But if the information regarding the energy of light according to its color (or its wavelength or frequency), we would find that a photon of blue light has more energy than a photon of red light. Blue light has a shorter wavelength or higher frequency, and electromagnetic energy with higher frequency or shorter wavelength has more energy than light of the same intensity but of lower frequency or longer wavelength.

Why doesn't light travel deeper into water?

To travel far, you must have high intensity, which a normal torch light does not have to go through like, Marina Tench's depth. So! check the power of your torch light before diving at the great depth.Since the light goes on diverging (as you know from torch light) therefore the time that it reach the bed, the luminance of the light would get very low, so that is why the light can not travel deeper into the water. But intensity also matters here too. If you have very high intensity light source then you probably don't have to use any further more converging medium but if you use low intensity light source, no matter how much you try to converge it using a medium, it won't show as clear as the high intensity light did.

What object absorbs all incident light?

An ideal black body would do that. In nature, the only actual such body would be a black hole.

An ideal Polaroid will transmit 50 percent of nonpolarized light incident on it How much light is transmitted by two ideal Polaroids that are oriented with their axes parallel to each other?

25 percent. Each successive polaroid with its axis parallel halves the amount of transmitted light. Therefore it would be 100%*(1/2)*(1/2) = 100%/4 = 25%

What is the effect of doubling the intensity of light on the number of electrons being emitted from a metal?

Visible light of a different frequency is a different color. Visible light of a higher frequency is closer to the violet end of the spectrum. If the frequency of a light source were increased, then the wavelength of its emission would decrease, because the product of (frequency) x (wavelength) is always the same number for all light in the same medium.

Does purple or blue have a higher intensity?

it just depends on the shade of blue and purple. if it is a dark purple and a light blue, then the light blue would have a higher intensity. if you look at any shade, the one that is brighter has the higher intensity of the two.

What do you think light from the Sun would look like if there was no atmosphere between us and the Sun?

That would be fatal due to the extreme heat or we would go blind from the intensity of the light
