It would be wrong because different dictators:

  • Use different tactics to preserve their power,
  • Kill more or fewer people,
  • Allow more or less human rights,
  • Derive their power by different justifications.

And, as an added bonus, they do different things to make their place in history such as:

  • Eating people (Idi Amin)
  • Killing all educated people (Pol Pot, Mao Tse Tung)
  • Wiping out entire demographic groups (A. Hitler, Joe Stalin)
  • Bleeding all the money from the people to maintain an extravagant lifestyle while the people starve (Kim Jung Il and Kim Il Seung regimes in N. Korea)
