Watson created a model of the DNA double helix structure along with Francis Crick. Rosalind Franklin discovered the structure of DNA by using X-ray diffraction. Watson and Crick used Franklin's unpublished data without her consent in the construction of the double helix model and took credit for the findings.

Dr. Franklin probably would have shared the Noble Prize with Watson, Crick and Maurice Wilkins but she died before the prize was awarded but the Noble prize is not awarded posthumously. Without Franklin's work Watson and Crick would not have made their discovery.

Dr. Franklin, helped to discover the structure of DNA by doing x-ray crystallography of DNA. The DNA strands gave out a distinctive pattern which Watson and Crick were able to deduce as the helical structure of DNA. Without her picture of DNA, Watson and Crick would not most likely to have figured out the structure of DNA.
