Coolant entering the combustion chamber and the oil pan. This will cause serious engine damage and stalling due to the plugs getting wet. You should not even be driving a vehicle with a blown head gasket unless you do not care if you destroy the engine.
intake gasket is leaking
Some of the reasons your Escort would stall after 40 seconds at idle are: 1. Vacuum leak. 2. Plugged fuel filter. 3. Leaking EGR. 4. Plugged PCV valve 5. Air filter clogged. 6. Fuel pump below capacity. 7. Leaking head gasket. 8. Camshaft lobes worn 9. Idle Air Control (IAC) valve.
it will cause overheating and mess up your engine internal moving parts.
Only if your alternator is not working properly. If you are always charging your battery, check your alternator belt. That was the solution for my escort, a new $10.00 belt.
replace the hose or gasket the is leaking, you can spray carb cleaner around the eng whil runnig to locate the leak the eng will try to stall
Yes, a busted head gasket might stall your car if the gasket causes the car to overheat. This can actually blow the heads and cripple the car completely.
My 94 escort was doing the same thing. I replaced the throttle valve assembly and that seems to have done the trick. Hopefully that helps you out.
If the intake manifold gasket has failed then it can cause many issues. Air leaks, known as vacuum leaks, will cause an erratic idle, stalling, and fuel problems.
1st try checking the EGR valve. If the EGR valve is sticking or leaking it can force too much air into the air/fuel mixture causing the motor to stall out.
Yes if the vehicle is equiped with coil/coils and will cause missfire, oil there means your valve cover gasket is shot and if this is the case the plugs maybe be fouled. But generally you should seek diagnosis from a professional the vehicle may have other issues depending on the type of stall
I have a 2012 with the same problem. Second gasket is the same as the first, so Ford changing it was a stall tactic. Ford is aware of the issue but doing nothing. Did you get anywhere? If you did, please let me know. Thx, Andy.
