Best Answer

American Indians did not start resisting the occupation until the invaders started killing them for the lands. To the Indian the lands could not be taken or owned, yet the white man with his superior weapons would do anything to take their lands. The Europeans also wanted to change them. They wanted to convert them to the white man's religion , change their dress, change their languages. Basically, the natives resisted becoming like their invaders.

What are some of the misunderstandings between the native Americans and the Europeans?

a misunderstanding between the natives and the europeans was the land... the land went to the Indians or it went to the euro's... really the land was the natives first. when the europeans thought there was nothing here, the natives had been settled here. the entire time the natives lived on this continent, they lived here. the were frist born here, not to mention the word Indian was not chosen by the true natives. the europeans called them Indians as a slang word to describe them to others bak home. they used the word t hurt them... not to give them pride and erogence. the native American culture immigrated from spaoin.

What would the natives do that would scare the Spanish so much?

The American Natives did not scare the Spanish. In fact, Colombus used the hospitality of the Taíno Indians on Hispaniola as a bargaining point for why the Spaniards should colonize them. (They'll offer no resistance to the Spanish Crown.) There were certainly more hostile tribes such as the Mapuche who continually resisted Spanish occupation, but the Spaniards colonized to acquire more raw materials, convert souls to Christianity, and attain glory. It was not retribution for anything that the American Natives did.

If you mean people born in Europe, then Europeans But if you mean the first nations, it is hard to say. I believe the first people there were the Celts and thus Celts would be more appropriate. As opposed to Celts, Native Europeans might work.

Has there ever been an instance where a migrating group of people peacefully lived with the natives in that land?

It is possible that the answer is no. But a possible YES would be the relationship between the native Maori and the Europeans who moved to New Zealand. Their experience was different from that of the indigenous people in Australia.
