unless you have some serious torque pushing out of that hd you don't want that gearing in that duramax rearend it probably has 4:11 gears which is great for diesel but shity for gas rigs......
If you know what you are doing you can put ANY engine that you want in it. Small are BIG block. They will all fit.
You have to remove the transmission to get to the clutch slave cylinder on that truck. You can pull the engine if you want and get to it. YOUR CHOICE.
