yes of course a sraight guy could pretend to be gay it would just take some acting and would be very weird for him I agree that it would take some acting. Although it being "weird" isn't going through his mind. This is the reason why: first, you have to ask yourself why would a straight guy fake being gay? Well, most likely the reason is because he is trying to get something out of someone, whether it be a woman or gay guy. If it is a woman that he is faking with, most likely he is trying to gain her trust that way he can get close to her and then reveal to her that he thinks that he might be straight so he can "get with her". That has been the basis of many movies. If he is faking with a gay guy, then the issue is black and white-- he just wants his money.
