I would say not. You would be amazed to find out what industries have in tap water today. Its like dinking boiled ocean water.
You may want to check a few things first. Is your home's tap water hard? Then it would be much harder on your water system, then you may need to replace it. If your water is not hard then check into just buying a replacement filter.
