When you operate the bright/dim switch, do the lights ever switch between high and low beam, or are they stuck in the high beam mode? If your headlight switch is like mine, and is part of the turn signal/headlight/dimmer/cruise stalk, you might need to replace it. It's about a $60 part and is a reasonable do it yourself job.
